Established in 1992, Mauna Loa Helicopters operates on three Hawaiian Islands: Hawaii, Kauai and Oahu. The school focuses on career-minded pilots and provides all rotorcraft ratings from Private through ATP. The school also offers night vision goggle training, sling load, high-altitude and mountain flying courses.
Mauna Loa Helicopters is approved by the Veteran's Administration and is one of just three helicopter flight training schools in the country authorized to issue F-1 and M-1 visas for international students.
Mauna Loa is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges and was recently awarded Title IV status by the federal government. The school has two designated examiners on staff and a fleet of 14 R-22s and four R-44 helicopters, a Cessna 172 and two approved flight training devices.
